Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney women's basketball team has a quick two-game homestand this weekend when league foes Missouri Western and Northwest Missouri visit the Health & Sports Center.

The Griffons (5-2, 1-1) visit Thursday at 5:30 p.m. with the Bearcats (7-0, 2-0) stopping by Saturday at 2 p.m. The contests are available on The MIAA NetworkThe River 93.1/106.9 KRVN FM and live stats

UNK (7-1, 1-1), riding a 23-game home court win streak, is up to 80.4 points per game thanks to seven made triples a night as well as a 70% free throw effort. Six Lopers are between 7.9-14.5 points per game led by super senior post Shiloh McCool (Pleasant Hill, Ia.). She also is at an even 10.0 boards per game, making her the lone MIAA player to be averaging a double double to date. A super plus 15.5 on the glass, the Lopers also have a plus five turnover margin. Finally, they are allowing 53.1 points per game, lowest in the conference.

An experienced MWSU crew is coming off a 73-55 home win over Missouri Southern. They were tripped up by Pitt State, 65-56, to start the league schedule. Lineup stalwarts Connie Clarke (12.7 points, 8.3 rebounds) and Brionna Budgetts (6.7 points) are back with the Griffs holding teams to just 27% from behind the arc and forcing 18 turnovers a night. UNK has won seven of the last night meetings between the two but MWSU won last year in St. Joe, 68-65.

Northwest is off to a flying start thanks to an offense that is averaging 15 points more than last year (62 to 77). Another veteran team is led by Molly Hartnett (13.7 points, 3.0 rebounds), Lindsey Kelderman (11.9 points, 3.6 rebounds) and Kelsey Fields (10.7 points, 8.6 rebounds) with NW limiting teams to 63 points per game. Finally, the Lopers have been a thorn in the 'Cats side, taking the last nine games in the series including two in the MIAA Tournament.

Kearney returns to the road next weekend with games vs. Newman and Central Oklahoma.
