Lopers Pick Up Wins Against D1 Competition

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney men's tennis teams finished up its fall season this past weekend with the UNK "Hidden Duals" at the Ernest Grundy Tennis Center and Harmon Park.

Besides the Lopers, Washburn and three Division I schools – Nebraska Omaha, Creighton and North Dakota – took part.

Sophomore Tom van den Dungen (Netherlands) and freshman Adrian Constantin (Romania) went 3-0 in doubles, winning 7-6 against both UND and UNO. Their win against the Hawks came by a 9-7 margin. Next, graduate Aaron Osmond (U.K.) and sophomore Jip Mens (Netherlands) picked up victories against CU and UNO.

In singles, both Mens and sophomore Andy Brisdon (U.K.) posted 3-0 records with junior Alex Jaulin (Australia) going 2-0. Mens won two matches in straight sets, Brisdon took a third set, 10-5, against UND to win with Jaulin taking the third set by identical 10-3 scores to beat both UNO and CU.

Both Loper teams return to action in February 2025.
