Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney Aqualopers remain in eighth place after ay three of the 2024 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships in Grand Junction, Colo.

The five-day event began Tuesday night and is being hosted by Colorado Mesa at the El Pomar Natatorium. Nine women's teams and six men's teams are taking part. Live results and live video via The RMAC Network is available.

UNK has tallied 118 points to be ahead of Adams State and not too far behind Colorado State-Pueblo (154). CMU, the overwhelming favorite, leads with 593 points.

Sophomore Maggie Waddington (Norfolk) led UNK on day three as she turned in the program's fourth fastest time in the 200-freestyle (converted 1:59.47) and was anchor for the 400-medley relay that now ranks second in Loper lore (4:01.30).

In the morning prelims, Waddington placed 30th overall in the 200 free and moved up five sports to fourth on the all-time list. Next, in the evening finals, the relay team's effort trailed just the school-record of 4:00.40 set just last year. Sophomore Gabby Grace (Topeka), junior Karley Bennett (Centennial, Colo.) and senior Emily Miksch (Columbus) rounded out that foursome.

Finally, senior Katie Cornelio (Monument, Colo.) led the team in the 400-individual medley (converted 4:58.46) and Bennett was tops in the 100-butterfly (59.56). Cornelio's time was a career-best effort and keeps her seventh on UNK's all-time list with Bennett just missing her own school-record (58.69).

Action resumes later Friday morning.
