Bulldogs Stimye the Lopers; Home Opener Next Weekend

Kearney, Neb. – Southwestern Oklahoma State's Blaine Gentry and Courtney Hill combined on a three-hitter to help the Bulldogs beat Nebraska-Kearney, 6-0, Saturday afternoon in Edmond, Okla.

The Lopers (4-5) first game of the day against Southern Arkansas was canceled due to cold temperatures. The Raising Cane's Softball Festival was hosted by several schools in the Oklahoma City Metro area.

Gentry (3-4) allowed just one hit over the first four innings while fanning two. Hill picked up the save thanks to four K's over the last three innings. At the plate, SWOSU (3-6) had a three-run third and a two-run fourth. Second baseman Jadyn Hook and third baseman Rebeca Fajardo each collected two hits with Fajardo scoring twice as well.

UNK was led by junior designated player Jaiden Harteker (Windsor, Colo.), who went 2 for 3 from the six-hole. and sophomore pitcher Madeline Janssen (Earlham, Ia). She didn't allow an earned run over the final four innings.

The Lopers are slated to hosted NAIA Briar Cliff (Ia.) next weekend.
