#50 UNK Knocks Off the Rust, Sweeps CU at the Grundy

Kearney, Neb. – The 50th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney men's tennis team blanked 49th-ranked Concordia, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at the Ernest Grundy Tennis Center.

The dual was moved indoors due to inclement weather. UNK, playing its first match in eight days, improves to 9-6 while the NAIA Bulldogs fall to 5-10.

The 18th-ranked pairing of Tom van den Dungen (The Netherlands) and graduate Aaron Osmond (U.K.) moved to 12-2 on the year after a 6-2 win at one doubles. UNK won 6-2 at two and then freshman Jip Mens (The Netherlands) and Adam Palecek (Czechia) blanked their CU opponents at three.

In singles, UNK saw Mens (two) and van den Dungen (six) each win by 6-0, 6-1 scores with freshman Andy Brisdon (U.K.) not allowing a single point at five. Finally, Palecek got his second crack at the top spot and promptly won; 6-1, 6-2.

Weather permitting, both Loper teams host Newman (Mar. 28) and Emporia State (Mar. 29) this weekend at Harmon Park. The women (9-3) are now ranked 25th nationally.
