UNK Adds Four Prep Stars

Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska Kearney wrestling coach Dalton Jensen announced the names of four high school stars who'll join the Lopers next winter.

They are Wyatt Boley (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain H.S.), Jaeston Delano (Columbus H.S.), Ian Giancola (Hoxie, Kan./Hoxie H.S.) and Gavin Ourada (Omaha Skutt Catholic H.S.). The defending national champions and preseason No. 1 Lopers have 10 graduate students or seniors on this year's squad.

Boley's older brother, Jake, was a heavyweight wrestler for the Lopers (2022-25). Wyatt is a three-time state qualifier, finishing third in 2025 in Class 4A at 157-pounds with a 40-11 record.

"Wyatt has an all around great work ethic and is successful in all aspects of his life. Wyatt's brother, Jake recently graduated from our program and is now attending veterinary school at Kansas State. Wyatt also looks to become a doctor while chasing his athletic goals on the mat," said Jensen.

Delano's older brother, Brenyn, is currently a redshirt sophomore (133-lbs.) on the team. Jaeston is coming off a 41-2 season in which he won the Class A state title at 165 lbs. He also is a three-time state medalist.

"Jaeston has shown how to win the big matches by capturing his first state championship this past season," said Jensen. "He will be joining his bigger (yet smaller) brother, Brenyn on the team which will make for a fun dynamic."

Next, Giancola is a two-time 120-pound champ from Hoxie High. He's amassed a 69-2 record over the last two seasons and is UNK's third three-time state medalist.

"Ian is a true "mat rat" as he wrestles year round which has paid off as he has a lengthy resume of accolades," said Jensen. "He comes from a true wrestling community with a culture of success."

Finally, Ourada is another familiar name to UNK as Zach is a decorated redshirt junior at 133-pounds. Gavin is a three-time state medalist who was third in Class A this past March in the 113-lbs. class.

"Gavin has shown a ton of development over the past couple years which is a testament to the time and work he has put in. With his brother on the team as a two-time All-American and national finalist, Gavin will have quick access to the blueprints to being a successful college wrestler," said Jensen.

The Loper varsity is at Iowa State on Friday (aired on ESPN +) with non-varsity members at the Grand View Open in Des Moines Saturday.
