UNK (3-1) was just 2 of 15 from deep over the first three quarters with the Golden Eagles (0-1) staying close thanks to 5-1 senior guard Emma Miller. She went for a game-high 27 points, eight rebounds (seven defensive), four assists and two steals in playing all 40 minutes. Miller set a school-record last winter with 658 points.

The Lopers led for 27 minutes on the day but found themselves tied at 49 after three full quarters. They quickly regained control as true freshman post Lynnae Green (Northboro, Ia.) started the fourth with a paint bucket and then Weers (Diller) nailed a triple about 45 seconds later. UMC wouldn't get closer than four points the rest of the way.

Junior Jordan Sears (McPherson, Kan.) hit UNK's second trey of the quarter with Weers then hitting back-to-back long shots to stretch the lead to 63-50 by the 6:10 mark. Weers had 12 points over the final 10 minutes, all from distance (4 of 6).

Overall, UNK was plus eight on the glass, registered a plus four turnover margin, went 11 of 14 at the line and got 23 bench points. Weers finished 8 of 19 (4 of 9) from the field with Sears (12) hitting three field goals and going 4 of 4 at the line. Next, Polish senior Malgorzata Byczkowska had 10 rebounds (7 defensive) with senior point guard Jillian Aschoff (Lincoln Pius) at nine assists, eight points and five boards. Finally, Green had 12 points and six caroms in just 18 minutes for work.

Redshirt junior Riley Jenkins (11) was the other Golden Eagle to reach double digits.

Pitt and Northern play the early game on Saturday (12 p.m.) with UNK and NSU following 20 minutes afterwards.
