Kearney, Neb. – The fifth-ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos used three late takedowns to edge fourth-ranked Nebraska Kearney, 19-12, Friday night in Edmond.

Earlier this year the Bronchos (11-1, 4-0) bested the Lopers (9-7, 3-1) at the National Duals in Iowa, 22-14.

The close wins started right away was top-ranked Studd Morris got past-second ranked Zach Ourada (Omaha Skutt), 4-1, in sudden victory. This was Ourada's first match since the National Duals due to injury; a video review late in the third period removed a takedown by Morris. Next, sixth-ranked Peter Rolle used a late third period takedown to get past junior Hector Serratos (Wichita) at 133-pounds with 10th-ranked Hunter Jump doing the same at 165-pounds against sixth-ranked Trenton Munoz (Santa Clarita, Calif.) in sudden victory. Five of the first six matches were by 4-1 scores with the 'Chos taking five of them. 

UNK finished strong as both fifth-ranked Jackson Kinsella (Creston, Ia.) and top-ranked Crew Howard (Clarinda, Ia.) won by decision at 197 and 285 pounds. Finally, senior Jacobi Deal (Durham, NC) used a third-period escape to edge Tucker Waltman at 174-lbs., 5-4.

The Lopers finish up the regular season on Valentine's Day against Fort Hays State in the Health & Sports Center.
