Kearney, Neb. – Four members of the Nebraska Kearney women's basketball teams recently earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC)Academic All-District

This award went through a change prior the 2022-23 academic year and had additional changes in the summer of 2023. To qualify now, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have played in 80% of their teams games during the season. In addition, schools can nominate only four per gender.

Previously, Academic All-District nominees could've posted a 3.25 cumulative GPA, there was no game percentage requirement with honorees selected by a random vote. Now, all qualifiers receive Academic All-District distinction.

UNK's qualifiers graduate Meg Burns (Ankeny, Ia.), senior Samantha Moore (Mullen), redshirt junior Jillian Aschoff (Lincoln Pius) and redshirt sophomore Bailee Sobczak (Rapid City, S.D.). Burns, Aschoff and Sobczak are repeat qualifiers with Aschoff moving onto the national ballott where she could earn Academic All-American honors. That team, chose by a random vote, will be announced in mid-April.
