Kearney, Neb. – Six members of the Nebraska Kearney men's and women's tennis team recently earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Academic All-District

This award went through a change prior the 2022-23 academic year and had additional changes since. To qualify now, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA and have played in 70% of their team's scored events (non-scoring events like fall open tournaments not included) during the season. In addition, schools can nominate no more than four per gender.

Previously, Academic All-District nominees could've posted a 3.25 cumulative GPA, there was no game percentage requirement with honorees selected by a random vote. Now, all qualifiers receive Academic All-District distinction.

UNK's qualifiers are sophomores Andy Brisdon (U.K.) and Tom van den Dungen (Netherlands), seniors Alexis Bernthal (Boulder, Colo.), Masha Hatouka (Belarus) and Narindra Ranaivo (Madagascar) and redshirt junior Clare Plachy (Lincoln Pius). Select qualifiers move onto the national ballot where they could earn Academic All-American status; that team will be announced June 4.
