UNK Strong in the Classroom & on the Court

Kearney, Neb. – The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently announced its Division II academic awards for the 2024-25 season.

To earn the "ITA All-Academic Team" honor, a program must have a team GPA of 3.2 with all student-athletes included in the calculation. To be tabbed a "ITA Scholar-Athlete", a player must have a 3.50 GPA for the academic year.

The women to earn the individual award are seniors Alexis Bernthal (Boulder, Colo.), Masha Hatouka (Belarus), and Narindra Ranaivo (Madagascar), juniors Fabiana Gamboa (Venezuela) and Clare Plachy (Lincoln), sophomore Julia Wartecka (Poland), and freshman Jasmine Ben Aba (Tunisia). The Loper women also were one of 104 programs to qualify for the All-Academic Team honor with a total of 705 D2 women earning the Scholar-Athlete distinction.

On the men's side, graduate Aaron Osmond (U.K.), junior Alex Jaulin (Australia) and sophomores Andy Brisdon (U.K.), Jip Mens (Netherlands), Jakub Strzelecki (Poland), and Tom van den Dungen (The Netherlands) and freshman Adrian Constantin (Romania) each earned the individual honor. The Lopers were one of 76 men's programs to be tabbed All-Academic with 275 men earning Scholar-Athlete honors.

UNK starts the 2025-26 season in September with the fall schedule to be announced.
