MIAA Poll Released with Lopers in the Top Spot

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced its preseason coaches' poll for the 2025 volleyball season.

MIAA head coaches selected defending MIAA champion Nebraska Kearney to finish at the top of the league again this season. UNK went 30-3 last year and won its seventh MIAA regular season title with a 15-1 league mark. The Lopers then reached the MIAA Tournament finals for a seventh time since joining the league in 2012.

Head coach Rick Squiers returns All-American setter Peyton Neff (North Platte), All-American middle Mia Berg (Eureka, Mo.) and All-MIAA selections Emilee Lane (Hays, Kan.) and Abby Rose (Lindsborg, Kan.) while welcoming three transfers and three freshmen to a 20-player roster.
 
UNK tallied 119 points and nine of the 12 first place votes. Central Oklahoma, the 2024 MIAA tourney and Central Region champ, is in second with 111 points and three first place votes.

The 2025 MIAA volleyball season officially begins Thursday, September 4, with conference contests beginning Thursday, September 25. The 2025 MIAA Volleyball Championship is scheduled for November 20-22 at the Civic Arena in St. Joseph, Mo.
