Aqualopers Second in First Meet of 2025-26

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney swimming and diving team won four events and was second in three others to place second at the third annual Dan France Continental Divide Cup in Pueblo, Colo.

The meet began Friday and ran into Saturday with host Colorado State-Pueblo, Western Colorado and Adams State also in attendance. UNK scored 494.0 points with WCU first (728.50), Pueblo third (428.5) and then ASU (148).

Norfolk senior Maggie Waddington (100 fee/56.12), Kansas sophomore Kayla Milligan (50 butterfly/27.67), McCook freshman Maryann Kassner (1-meter board/390.15 points), and the 400 free relay team (3:45.76) each placed first. Waddington was the anchor, Kansas senior Gabby Grace swam lead with Kansas freshman Joslynn Grace and Beatrice freshman Jaedyn Baxa handling the middle legs.

Finishing runner up in their respective events was Baxa (50 free/25.65), the younger Grace in the 200 (2:17.71) and 400 (4:55.65) individual medleys and Kassner (3-meter board/341.05). Additionally, the young Grace finished third in the 200 fly (2:21.33) and was fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:36.19) with Waddington anchoring the third place 200 free relay team (1:44.10).

UNK heads to Oklahoma City for another two-day meet, this time hosted by Oklahoma Christian.
