Kearney, Neb. – The 12th-ranked Nebraska Kearney volleyball team ventures to New England this weekend to begin the 2025 season.

UNK is taking part in the "Windjammer Classic" at St. Michael's College in Colchester, Vt. This is believed to be the first-ever appearance by a Loper team in the Green Mountain State.

This is the first-ever Windjammer Classic; fans not in attendance can watch (behind a paywall) via FloSports with live stats available as well. Note a MIAA Network month or season pass will not work this weekend.  

The Lopers battle the Franklin Pierce (N.H.) Ravens on Friday (Sept. 5) at 9 a.m. Central and then St. Mike's at 1 p.m. Central. On Saturday, the competition is 2024 Final 4 participant and 18th-ranked Bentley (Mass.) at 9 a.m. Central and then East Stroudsburg (Pa.) at 3:30 p.m. Central. Back in 2016, UNK swept both ESU and BU in a Massachusetts tournament; this will be the first-ever meeting between the other two.

UNK has a quick turnaround as it hosts Peru State (Sept. 9), Sioux Falls (Sept. 11) and the annual Rosella Meier (Sept. 13-14) next weekend at Buckle Court.
