Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska-Kearney is currently sitting 19th and is the third ranked MIAA school in the race for the 2025-26 Learfield Directors' Cup.

The Cup is the Division II "All-Sports" Trophy, given annually to the school that scores the most points at NCAA Championships over the fall, winter and spring seasons. The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.

UNK has 319.50 points to date after scoring 146 in the fall and 173.50 in the recently completed winter season. The Lopers national championship in wrestling brought in 100 points, the women's track and field 25th place finish scored 47.50 points with men's track and field providing 26. In the fall, UNK scored in volleyball (50), men's cross country (48) and women's cross country (48).

Grand Valley State of Michigan, who has won the Cup in 17 of the last 20 years, is in first with 790.50 points. Colorado School of Mines (550.0) is well behind in second with Pitt State (8th/388.0) and Washburn (15th/330.0) the top MIAA squads.

No Cup was awarded during the 2019-20 or 2020-21 season due to pandemic. GVSU (1,080.50) led last year's race with Wingate, S.C. a distant second (837.25).  The standings will be updated again in June after the spring season has wrapped.

UNK's top finish came in 2005-06 (13th) with its top overall point total being 494.50 in 2007-08, good for a 16th place finish.
