Lopers Drop Two Close Games to the Jennies

Kearney, Neb. – The Central Missouri Jennies won a couple of close games over Nebraska Kearney, 6-1 and 2-0, Saturday in Warrensburg.

The regionally-ranked Jens move to 33-15 (14-8), and to 11-1 at home, while the Lopers drop to 14-37 (3-19) and are eliminated from MIAA Tournament.

In game two, senior right hander Andi Siebeneck moved to 13-4 by tossing a three-hitter. She fanned seven, walked only one and threw 97 pitches. Kansas junior Chloe Odle also threw a three-hitter as she fanned four and walked one over 82 tosses. However, UCM scored earned runs in both the first and third innings.

Raymond junior third baseman Alyssa Fortik went 2 for 3 with lead off hitter and senior shortstop Mary Chvatal drawing her 36th walk, tying a school record. She also had 36 BB's last year, as did Lydnsey Roth in 2022.

UCM out hit UNK by a 13-4 margin in the early game and scored runs in four different innings. Six different Jens had multi-hit games, including catcher Taylor Thompson (3 for 4), with senior D1 transfer Bailey Brumley (11-4) fanning eight over seven innings.

Junior Zakayia Fredrick (Temple, Texas) did yeoman's work, tossing 128 pitches in six innings. She fanned five and recorded 10 fly outs. Finally, Chvatal went 2 for 3 from the lead off spot with senior second baseman Gianna Galli (Stockton, Calif.) having an RBI.

UNK closes out 2026 next Saturday with a double header against rival Fort Hays State.
