Two Rounds Completed at Delayed NCAA Golf Championships

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney women's golf team has shot a 655 over the first 36 holes of the 2026 NCAA Division II Championships in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

The 18-team, 54-hole tournament began Tuesday at the par 72 PGA National Champions Course (5,986 yards). The top eight teams after stroke play advance to match play Friday and Saturday to determine the National Champion.

UNK teed off Tuesday morning and got in about 15 holes before heavy rain suspended play. The first round finished late Wednesday morning with the second round ending in the evening and after a brief weather suspension.

Second-ranked and defending national champion Dallas Baptist leads (587) by a stroke over top-ranked Wingate (N.C.). The current eighth-place team is 10th-ranked Texas-Tyler (617).

The Lopers have managed rounds of 324 and 331 to be eight strokes behind Central Region member Minnesota State with Southwestern Oklahoma State (T-11th/623) pacing the five qualifiers from the Central. 

On Wednesday, Swedish freshman Pella Broms (39-40) and Kansas junior Liz Lyons (38-41) both shot a 7-over 79 to lead. Broms had a birdie on the par 3 7th hole (144 yards) with Lyons carding a three on the par 4 2nd hole (357 yards). Next, Arizona senior Emmie Rhude had two birdies with Kansas senior Beth Grant having four consecutive pars on the front nine. Finally, Broms is tied for 49th overall (156) with Lyons three strokes back in 64th place. In round one, Broms had birdies on back-to-back holes (16 and 17) to turn in a team-best 77 with Lyons at an 80 (43-37). Her back nine featured eight pars.

Amely Bochaton of WU is walking away with the individual title (9-under 135; 68-67) with the average score being 78.3.

UNK tees off Thursday at 7:27 a.m. Central.
