Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney women's golf team shot a 54-hole total of 984 at the 2026 NCAA Division II Championships Thursday in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

The 18-team, 54-hole tournament began Tuesday at the par 72 PGA National Champions Course (5,986 yards). The top eight teams after stroke play advance to match play Friday and Saturday to determine the National Champion.

There were weather delays on both Tuesday and Wednesday, but the teams were uninterrupted over the final round. Thursday proved to be the toughest of the three days as the average score was 78.8.

UNK had efforts of 324, 331 and 329. They had eight birdies today, two on both holes 3 (par 5, 491 yards) and 4 (par 4, 330 yards), to come in 18th place and 10 shots behind region member Minnesota State. Top-ranked Wingate (S.C.) won by 20 strokes as they shot 877, largely in part to medalist Amely Bochaton (13-under 203; 68-67-68). Defending national champ Dallas Baptist was second with 31st-ranked Missouri-St. Louis (925) grabbing the eighth and final match play spot. Central Region member Southwestern Oklahoma State came in ninth and was just two shots behind UMSL.

Kansas senior Liz Lyons shot a 79 (39-40) to pace UNK on day three. She had one birdie and parred four consecutive holes on both the front and back nine. Overall, Lyons tied for 63rd place (238). Next, Swedish freshman Pella Broms carded an 81 (41-40) as she managed back-to-back birdies for the second time this week. She led the Blue & Gold overall with a 60th place effort (237).

In her final collegiate round, Arizona senior Emmie Rhude recorded an 83 (43-40) that included a birdie on hole three and she finished 89th (253). Finally, both Kansas senior Beth Grant (86; 43-43) and Minnesota sophomore Calie Dockter (90; 45-45) played two rounds this week as did Kansas redshirt sophomore Claire Berquist (173). Teams are now allowed to use a "sub" to replace any of the original round one five.  

In addition to Grant and Rhude, UNK loses Sofia Laserna Murra (Colombia) graduation. This year's team was the second to qualify for the NCAA Championships, was Central Region runners up, won the MIAA Tournament and four regular season tourneys.

The Lopers tee it up again this September.
