Golfers & Wrestlers Pick Up Academic All-District Awards

 Kearney, Neb. –  Six members of the Nebraska Kearney wrestling team and four Loper golfers have earned 2026 Academic At-Large All-District honors as selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Academic All-District

Select honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot; first, second and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in July. The "At-Large" category covers a wide array of sports. 

This award went through a change prior the 2022-23 academic year. To qualify now, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative GPA (for graduate students, both their undergrad and grad GPA must be a 3.5 or better), been at their current school one full year (two semesters) and met their sports playing requirements. For golf, nominees must play in 75% of a teams scored events or played in the league tournament. In wrestling, nominees must be in the lineup for at least 75% of teams scored events or compete in their weight class at a conference/regional meet. In addition, schools can nominate no more the 12 student-athletes (six men and six women) in the at-large category. 

Previously, Academic All-District nominees could've posted a 3.25 cumulative GPA with winners being selected by a random vote and there was no limit on the number of nominees. Now, all qualifiers receive Academic All-District distinction.

UNK's 2026 at-large qualifiers are wrestlers Caleb Coyle (Bennington), Daniel DeRosier (Bellevue), Crew Howard (Clarinda, Ia.), Trenton Munoz (Santa Clarita, Calif.), Zach Ourada (Omaha) and Cael Robb (Medford, Minn.) and golfers Claire Berquist (Lawrence, Kan.), Cali Dockter (Byron, Minn.), Liz Lyons (Olathe, Kan.) and Emmie Rhude (Carefree Ariz.).
