Willie Fair joined thee Nebraska-Kearney football program in the spring of 2021 and serves as a graduate assistant coach. He'll lead the Loper outside linebackers.
The California native comes to UNK from Hastings College where he was an assistant coach with the NAIA Broncos in the winter and early spring of 2021. He is a graduate of Division II-member Azusa Pacific University of Azusa, Calif. Fair holds a B.S in Kinesiology and Exercise Science as well as a Master's in Organizational Leadership.
As a player he earned 2018 first-team Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) honors as he registered 75 tackles, including 14 for loss (5.5 sacks). His play helped APU go 8-4 that fall and reach the D2 Playoffs. The linebacker also appeared in the 2016 playoffs with the Cougs, playing in 12 games that season as a redshirt freshman.
During his time with the Cougars, he also was an Assistant Equipment Manager for five seasons.
