"Over the last five years Jill has been the premiere example of what it means to be a player for Loper Women's Basketball! She has poured her heart into the game of basketball and became the best point guard to ever wear blue and gold!" said Loper head coach Drew Johnson. "I'm extremely excited to watch Jill pour that same energy, passion, and work ethic into her new role in the program as assistant coach. It is important to be able to keep Jill in the program and have her impact on the next generation of UNK players."

Aschoff wrapped up her playing career as a record-breaking point guard. In 2025-26 she set new standards for assists (185) and assists per game (6.16) in a season, assists (497) and assists per game (4.97) in a career and triple doubles in a career (two). One of only 30 Lopers to reach 1,000 career points, Aschoff recently earned her master's in business administration.

A five-year team member, Aschoff was a three-time All-MIAA pick and a three-time CSC Academic-All-District qualifier. Finally, she was a 2026 UNK Female Student-Athlete of the Year nominee.

"Jill brings a relentless work ethic to the program along with a mind for the game that has been impressive to learn during my time coaching her. She will be heavily involved in game planning, player development, recruiting, and the day-to-day operations of the program," said Johnson.
