Isabella Polanco Garcia joined the Nebraska Kearney women's soccer program in the fall of 2023 and serves as an assistnat coach involved in all aspects of the program.
The Colombian most recently played at NCAA Division II Northern State (Aberdeen, S.D.). Playing midfield, she appeared in 33 matches for NSU over the 2021 and 2022 seasons, helping the squad win 16 games. Starting 16 times, Polanco Garcia had five career points on two goals and assist. She also logged nearly 1,500 minutes on the pitch with 11 of her 18 shots being on goal. Finally, Polcano Garcia was a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) All-Academic Team.
She began her collegiate career at Iowa Lakes C.C. (Estherville, Ia.) and then moved onto Johnson County C.C. (Overland Park, Kan.). For ICCC, she was a starting midfielder who was named honorable mention all-conference thanks to tallying 16 points (six goals and four assists). For the Johnson Cavaliers, Polcano Garcia was a defender and part of a unit that posted a 1.08 GAA. Having three goals and two assists, she was an NJCAA Academic All-American and helped the team reach the district semifinals.
Prior to coming to the states, Polcano Garcia was a four-year starter with Colegio Comfandi Tulua, recording 38 career goals. She added 27 assists and was named to the all-league first team.
