Addison Peitz

Addison Peitz begins her first season as assistant coach with the Nebraska-Kearney women’s swimming and diving team. She came aboard in the fall of 2020. 

Before returning to UNK, Peitz was the head coach for the Yankton (S.D.) Swim Team. She coached three summer seasons (2018-2020) and one winter season (2019-2020). During her time with the Tidal Waves she worked on growing the program. with the team winning the 2019 South Dakota Long Course State Team Percentage Award.

Peitz competed collegiately at UNK for three seasons (2016-2019). She was a two-time Academic All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) recipient. She ranks in the UNK All Time Top-10 in the 100 Butterfly (7th), 200 Butterfly (3rd), 100 Individual Medley (10th), and 400 Individual Medley (7th).


Starting in the summer of 2018, Peitz serves as a personal coach for a Paralympic swimmer and has coached at Paralympic meets all over the United States. This includes several national level meets and one international event. She coached this swimmer to three U.S. Paralympic Short Course Yard records in the SM10 and SB9 class. They will continue to work towards the 2021 Paralympic Games, scheduled to be held in Tokyo between 24 August 24-September 5. 


Peitz graduated from UNK in December 2019 with Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Management with an emphasis in Recreation. She
 is from Hartington, Neb., and graduated from Hartington-Newcastle Public Schools in 2016. While in high school, she was a member of the Yankton Swim Team and qualified for eight state meets.
