Lauren Taubenheim joined the Nebraska Kearney volleyball coaching staff in the fall of 2025 and serves as the programs graduate assistant coach.
The Lincoln native is no stranger to the program, having spent the 2020-24 seasons along the right side or in the backrow for UNK. She is one of only 35 Lopers to reach 1,000-career digs (1,312) and a rare four-time all-conference pick.
"Along with being highly respected by her teammates and coaches, Lauren was one of the most intelligent and skilled players we have ever had at UNK. We are excited for her to share her insight and expertise with this year's team," said Squiers.
Taubenheim replaces another Lincoln native, Jaden Ferguson, as the program's GA. Ferguson spent two years at UNK, one as a grad transfer and one as a coach. That is the same path Taubenheim is taking as she earned a B.S. degree in Health Sciences in May 2024.
Finally, the Lincoln Pius X graduate was a volleyball, basketball and track letterwinner for the Thunderbolts.
