Christina Nelson joined the UNK Sports Medicine team in August 2024. She works primarily with the UNK volleyball and softball teams and provides care for the UNK Cheer team as well. Nelson also serve as clinical preceptor for the UNK Master of Athletic Training program.
The Wheat Ridge, Colo., native received an associate’s degree in education from Western Nebraska Community College in 2018 where she played softball for the Cougars. She then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2020.
Nelson is a 2024 graduate of the UNK Master of Athletic Training program. While attending UNK, she was also a graduate assistant for the master’s program. Before returning to school for athletic training, she spent two years as the assistant softball coach at Western Nebraska for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
