McCauley was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the UNK Loper Open after winning the 149 lbs. bracket with a 4-0 mark.

A 2015 All-American, McCauley had a 39 second fall and an 11-0 major to reach the semis. There, he beat Nebraska's Jordan Shearer, 6-4, and then beat another Husker, Justin Arthur, by a 7-6 score in the finals.
