Kearney, Neb. - The 5th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team had 11 blocks, tying a season-high, to beat 21st-ranked Metro State (-23, -13, -18) Sunday afternoon at the Health & Sports Center.

UNK improves to 25-1 (15-0 RMAC) while the Roadrunners drop to 17-7 (10-5 RMAC).

The Lopers have reached double digits in team blocks only five times this year but three of those efforts have coming in the last six matches.

Ahead 23-20 in the first set, UNK stopped Metro's momentum when OH Erica Burson sent a simple pass over the net that landed on the court for an unlikely kill. After the 'Runners closed within 24-23, OH Chelsie Carson recorded a kill to give the Lopers a 1-0 match lead.
