Kearney, Neb. – Minnesota State-Moorhead defender Cody Krieg made a free kick from 35 yards out with 10 minutes left to lift the Dragons to a 3-2 win over the Nebraska-Kearney women's soccer team Friday afternoon in Aberdeen, S.D.
The Dragons, from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, improve to 2-1 while UNK (1-2) drops its first-ever neutral site game.
The Lopers grabbed a 1-0 lead at the 18:45 mark when Kearney freshman
Alicia Crawford scored after an initial shot was stopped by MSUM keeper Alison Wanner.
Moorhead would lead 2-1 by the intermission thanks to goals at the 27 and 36 minute marks. UNK tied things up when Omaha freshman
Maggie McClure scored on unassisted goal at 57:33.
Her first collegiate goal came just seconds after Moorhead committed a foul.
UNK would commit a foul at the 79:41 mark and that set up Krieg as her free kick managed to find the right corner of the net. The Lopers didn't get a shot off in the final 10 minutes. For the game, Moorhead took 15 more shots then UNK, 26-11.

Marissa Niday stopped eight shots on goal while Wanner had two saves.
The Lopers stay in Aberdeen and take on the home standing Northern State Wolves Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
