Kearney, Neb. – The University of Nebraska-Kearney soccer team tied Colorado Christian,
0-0, Sunday afternoon at Foster Field at Cope Stadium.
UNK is now 6-6-2 and 3-5-2 in the RMAC while the Cougars improve to 1-13-2 (1-9-2 RMAC). Earlier this fall, CCU beat the Lopers, 2-1, in double OT.
Kearney is still in the running for an RMAC Tournament berth with four regular season games to play. The team is in sixth place as of October 18th and six teams make the November event.
Prior to the Christian game, UNK honored its lone -- and first-ever -- senior player in defender
Talisha Krason (Kearney H.S.). A transfer from Fort Hays State, Krason has started all 14 games this season, playing in 1,189 minutes and scoring a goal.
Krason and the Lopers dominated the day, out shooting the Cougars 29-5 and having a plus four advantage in corner kicks, 7-3.
After no score through 110 minutes, UNK freshman forward
Becka Talcott (Denver, CO) had two chances in the second extra session to break the ice but both of her shots hit the crossbar and bounced back to the CCU goalie.
UNK goes on the road next weekend to play Metro State and Regis University.
