Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney women's soccer team returns to Cope Stadium this weekend looking to pickup its first RMAC win of the 2011 season.
The Lopers (2-4-0, 0-2-0 RMAC) host Colorado Christian on Friday (12:00 p.m.) and Colorado State-Pueblo on Sunday (1:00 p.m.). The early start on Friday is due to Kearney High playing Fremont in football at 7:00 p.m.
Fans that cannot attend either game can follow the action for free via

So far this fall, UNK is a second half team. Over the final 45 minutes, the Lopers have more corners, 16-7, shots, 39-36, and goals, 4-1, than its opponents.
However, Kearney has had some slow starts as it has trailed in five of its first six games. In fact, 10 of the 11 goals the opposition has scored have come in the first half.
UNK would like to be on its game from the get go Friday as Christian (2-4-0, 1-1-0 RMAC) was a team that arguably prevented the Lopers from making the RMAC Tournament a year ago.
CCU posted a 4-14-3 mark in 2010, beating the Lopers in Lakewood, 2-1 in two OT's, and then tying UNK, 0-0, in Kearney. In that second game, the Lopers out shot the Cougars, 29-5.
The 29 shots remain a school-record.
Like UNK, the Cougs own a win over Fort Hays State this season while also slipping past Adams State, 2-. Four different players have scored, including Elkhorn native Sally Larsen.
On Sunday, Pueblo (3-2-0, 0-2-0 RMAC) comes to town after a 5-0 setback at No. 3 Fort Lewis. UNK lost to the Skyhawks by a 4-2 score.
Ranked ninth in the Central Region, Pueblo won three straight games earlier this year and is paced by junior forward Morgan Purkey (three goals & 16 shots). Similar to Christian, they use two keepers.
In 2010, UNK won its second-ever road game, getting by the ThunderWolves in Pueblo, 2-1.
This past Sunday at Fort Lewis, Kearney got goals from sophomore
Raliegh Mercer (Centennial, Colo.) and freshman
Ashtin Pawloski (Hastings).
Mercer currently leads the team in shots (15), points (eight) and goals (three) with Pawloski at five points and nine shots.
Next weekend, UNK hosts Colorado Mines Friday night and then is at Metro State on Sunday (Oct. 2nd).
