Kearney, Neb. - The now fifth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team needed to win four straight matches to rally past ninth-ranked Adams State, 20-19, Wednesday night in Alamosa.

With senior
Dalton Jensen (Missouri Valley, Ia.), ranked No. 1 at 141 lbs., still nursing an injury, the Lopers were down 16-4 in Alamosa.
Redshirt freshman heavyweight
Kevin Barrett (Bennington), returning to the lineup after his own ailments, gave UNK a 4-0 lead with a major decision. He tallied the extra team point thanks to a takedown and three-point near fall in the final seconds. That action helped him reach 62 seconds of riding time.
However, ASC won the next four matches, one by fall in 43 seconds and another by major decision. In addition, fourth-ranked Josh Hensley got past second-ranked
Raufeon Stots (Houston, Texas) by an 8-4 score.
Senior
T.J. Hepburn (East Hampton, Conn.), still ranked No. 2 at 157 lbs., started the Loper comeback in a big way with a fall at 3:58. This marked his 13th straight win and third fall of the year.
Second-ranked
Joey Wilson (Half Moon Bay, Calif.) followed with a 9-5 decision, eighth-ranked
Mark Fiala (Seward) got past Jarod Purvis by a 6-4 score and then senior
Caleb Kociemba (Hillsboro, Oreg). majored Darian Roberts, 11-2, to give UNK a 20-16 lead.
Second-ranked Luke McPeek edged redshirt freshman
Matt Lenagh (Millard North), 3-2, to finish the dual.
A few hours earlier in Las Vegas, UNK used three falls and two majors to easily beat Highlands. Among the big wins was a 24 second fall by sophomore
Tim Crocker (Keanrey) at 141 lbs. and a 12-4 major decision by Stots.
UNK is at CSU-Pueblo Thursday night.
