Box Score 2 Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team improved to 18-0 by sweeping Arkansas-Monticello and Arkansas Tech Saturday at the Southwest Baptist Crossover Tournament in Bolivar, Mo.
The Lopers went 4-0 in the tournament, which pitted MIAA schools against the Great American Conference (GAC). On Friday, UNK swept NW Oklahoma State and beat Henderson State (Ark.) in four sets.
Statistics for Saturday's matches aren't available at this time. UNK first beat the UAM Cotton Blossoms (6-15) by scores 25-13, 25-6, 25-18.
The Arkansas Tech Golden Suns, a squad that went 35-4 in 2011 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament, was UNK's toughest test this weekend.
The Lopers passed by beating ATU 25-19, 25-14, 25-14. The Suns are now 17-7 on the season.
Kearney has another non-conference match as it travels to 18th-ranked Wayne State Wednesday night. The Wildcats are now 13-5 after losing at 10th-ranked Minnesota State and 6th-ranked Concordia-St. Paul this weekend.
UNK then returns to MIAA play as it hosts Truman State Friday night and Lindenwood Saturday afternoon.
