Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team has dropped 12 spots to 13th in the latest Division II Wrestling Coaches Association
Top 25 poll.
After going 1-2 at the Cliff Keen National Duals in Springfield, Ill., last weekend, UNK received 61 points this time to be tied with Minnesota State for 13th. In a consolation first round match in Illinois, the Lopers beat MSU, 20-15.
Based on winning the National Duals, St. Cloud State is the new No. 1. The Huskies tallied 160 points and all eight first place votes. The top five is rounded out by Notre Dame College (Ohio), MIAA-member Central Oklahoma , Newberry College (S.C.) and Wisconsin-Parkside.
Individually for Kearney, senior
Raufeon Stots (Houston, Texas) remains No. 1 at 149 lbs. with redshirt freshman
Daniel DeShazer (Wichita, Kans.) still sixth at 133 lbs.
Stots, a defending national champion, went 3-0 in Illinois while DeShazer hasn't competed this semester due to injury. He should return to the lineup soon.
