Improving to 38-7 all-time against the Hornets (7-6, 1-5), UNK is now 14-1 (4-0).

Rick Squiers 700th win as a college coach. He has won 466 matches at UNK, another 206 at Hastings and 28 more at Seward (Kans.) County C.C. Including time as a high school coach, Squiers overall coaching mark is 773-155.

Hitting a solid .321, the Lopers trailed just once in the match as six different players had five or more kills. Leitner (Lincoln SW) reached her kill total in 27 swings while also supplying 11 digs and a solo block. This is her second straight double double and third such effort of the year.

Working her way back into the offense, Massanet (Manhattan, Kans.) had 10 kills and only one error in 17 attempts (.529 attack pct.) and tied junior libero
Liz McGowan (G.I. Central Catholic) for the team lead in digs at 13.

UNK trailed 2-0 in the first set but quickly regained the momentum, leading 17-9 after an ace by freshman
Annie Wolfe (Omaha Marian). The Lopers roared out to a 17-5 in the next set but had to grind through the final stanza, needing kills by Seele (Johnstown, Colo.) and senior middle
Katie Sokolowski (Kearney Catholic) to finish off the Hornets for good.

Handing out 36 assists and digging up six balls, Seele had five kills on nine attempts with zero errors (team-best .556 pct.). In the middle, the younger Sokolowski didn't commit an error as well, recording seven kills in 13 swings for a .538 hitting efficiency. Â
Finally, Lincoln freshman
Kinslie TeKolste came off the bench to provide six kills and two digs.

Carly Spicer and Brianna Kaiser had 10 kills apiece to lead Emporia.

UNK plays at No. 15 Washburn Saturday at 3:00 p.m. The Ichabods are now 14-3 (4-0) after sweeping Fort Hays State Friday night.
