Kearney, Neb. – The 4th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team heads to 6th-ranked Fort Hays State on Wednesday for the annual MIAA dual between the two longtime rivals.

UNK is now 9-3 (1-0) after going 4-0 at the Midwest Duals last Saturday at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds. One of those victories was a 23-18 decision over 5th-ranked Central Oklahoma.
The Tigers (6-3-1, 0-1) fell to UCO, 22-16, as heavyweight Trey Page had to forfeit due to injury. He didn't wrestle at the Midwest Duals.
Hays features two ranked individuals in Tanner Kriss (# 8/197 lbs.) and Adam Ludwin (# 7/125 lbs.) but Kriss isn't expected to take the mats.
The Tigers also have national qualifiers C.J. Napier (141 lbs.) and Mitchell Means (157 lbs.) in the middle of the lineup.
UNK is paced by top-ranked
Daniel DeShazer (133 lbs.) and
Romero Cotton (197 lbs.), who are now back in the fold after being running backs in the fall.
Last year, the Lopers beat the Tigers by a 28-6 score.
On Saturday, Kearney returns to its RMAC roots to battle 11th-ranked Adams State in Alamosa.
