Kearney, Neb. – The 4th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team recorded three falls in a
33-12 win at 6th-ranked Fort Hays State Wednesday night in Kansas.
The Lopers improve to 10-3 (2-0) with the Tigers slipping to 6-4-1 (0-2).

Central City sophomore
Connor Bolling started the night off right win a 3-2 upset win over 7th-ranked Lawson Ludwin at 125 lbs. Â To record his team-leading 27th victory, Bolling got a takedown in the second period and an escape in the third.

UNK then roared out to a 24-3 lead after falls by top-ranked
Daniel DeShazer (133 lbs.), junior
Tyler Anderson (149 lbs.) and freshman newcomer
Destin McCauley (157 lbs.).

Both Anderson and DeShazer's falls came in the first period with McCauley (North Sioux City, S.D.) having two takedowns and two near fall points before stopping Kregg Clarke at 4:32.

Things were tighter at 165 lbs. as Gering senior
Brock Smith was behind 5-4 after the first period. After Bradley Little managed a late escape to force overtime, Smith tallied a quick takedown to win 9-7.

Finally, fourth-ranked senior
Patrick Martinez (Hemet, Calif.) had two takedowns in a 6-3 decision at 174 lbs. with top-ranked
Romero Cotton (Hutchinson, Kans.) having a 4-1 lead at 197 lbs. before winning by injury default.
