Box Score Kearney, Neb. – The 6th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team hit .282 and recorded nine blocks to sweep Pittsburg State (-16, -14, -16) Friday night at the Health & Sports Center.

Rick Squiers 500th win at UNK. Taking over the program in 1999, he is now 500-70, a winning percentage of 87.7%.
Earlier this year in Kansas, the Lopers (20-2, 12-2) edged the Gorillas (7-15, 4-10) in five sets. However, several of Pitt's key players didn't take the court tonight, including setter Hayley Hansford.
Coach Squiers Recording 40 kills and committing just nine errors, Kearney used a 16-4 run to erase a two point deficit in the first set. For the match, the Lopers trailed just four times.
The Gorillas did muster 34 kills but also had 21 errors to hit .112. Also having four service errors, Pitt was aced five times by the Lopers.
Lincoln freshman
Tara Ziegelbein was one of seven UNK players to register at least three kills, finishing with a team-high nine. Hitting .471, she also tied for the team lead in blocks with five.
Next to her, sophomore
Bailey Sokolowski (Kearney Catholic) had seven kills, two blocks and hit .429 with junior setter
Erin Seele (Johnstown, Colo.) at 32 assists, eight digs, five blocks and three kills. Finally, Omaha sophomore
Annie Wolfe had seven digs and two kills in two swings.
Madison Mosier paced the Gorillas thanks to nine kills and a .348 hitting efficiency.
UNK hosts Southwest Baptist tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.
