Kearney, Neb. – The 5th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team returns to the road this weekend with visits to Pittsburg State and Southwest Baptist.
The Lopers (11-1, 3-1) face the Gorillas Friday at seven and then battle the Bearcats at 1:00 p.m. the next day.

Pitt State (4-8, 1-3) is coming off a tough five-set loss to Missouri Southern State Tuesday night. First-year head coach Jenny Mueller has a team that is now 3-3 in five set matches.
Sophomore outside Madi Mosier averages 3.51 kills and 2.12 digs per set while hitting a healthy .284. Six others average at least a kill per set, including freshman middle Ary Crittleton.
UNK needed to rally last November in Pittsburg, taking the final two sets by scores of 25-12 and 15-12. Mosier led the Gorillas with 16 kills and five digs with junior
MJ Massanet (Manhattan, Kans.) recording 22 kills for the Lopers.
Massanet might remember this trip to Pitt as she needs only 12 digs to become the 27th Loper with 1,000 in a career. For the year, she is at 3.10 per set.

Junior college transfer Lori Angello averages a team-best 3.23 kills per set and hits .241 with junior Hannah Blount first in digs (4.35).
Last season in Kearney, UNK swept (-11, -9, -17) the only match between the two. SBU had 19 kills, nine coming from senior outside Mackynzi Gibson (2.11 ps).
The Lopers, prior to Tuesday's win over Emporia State, lead the MIAA in kills (14.71) and assists (14.21) while being second in hitting percentage (.281) and third in opponent hitting percentage (.134).
UNK is also getting a lot of points from its serve game as the team has 47 aces to just 15 reception errors. The opposition has 16 more service errors as well.

Kelle Carver is a close second (3.10) with four others averaging at least 2.00.
At the net, UNK has already registered 41 solo blocks; the team had 62 all of last season. Carver (12) and middle
Bailey Sokolowski (seven) lead in this area with three others at five a piece.
