Lopers Face Dragons in National Duals

Kearney, Neb. – The 3rd-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team will face the 12th-ranked Tiffin (Ohio) University Dragons in the first round of the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division II National Duals Friday in Ft. Wayne, Ind.

The Lopers (3-0) will square off against the Dragons (2-3) at 10:00 a.m. Central. Tiffin features second-ranked Garrett Grey (285 lbs.) and fifth-ranked Jake Cramer (197 lbs.)

UNK will dual again at 2:00 p.m. Central against 7th-ranked Pittsburgh-Johnstown or McKendree University (Ill.).

Kearney hasn't competed in the National Duals since the 2012-13 season. They won the event in 2003 and 2007 and are 28-19 in the tournament since 2000.

This year, the Duals are part of "Mat Mayhem", an event held in Ft. Wayne's Allen County War Coliseum. Hosted by NUWAY, the event brings together men's college teams from NCAA Division II and III, NAIA and the junior college rankings. Also competing in brackets are women's college teams, high schools and youth teams.
