Kearney, Neb. – The sixth-ranked  Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team fell to Division I members Utah Valley, 35-6, and Northern Iowa, 43-0, Friday evening in Cedar Falls.

Due to the early nature of the duals, the Lopers didn't wrestle three returning All-Americans in Keith Surber (141 lbs.), Destin McCauley (157 lbs.) and Calvin Ochs (174 lbs.).

UNK's lone win of the night came at 141 pounds as sophomore Jeff Bizzle (Tahlequah, Okla.) pinned UVU's Trevor Wilson at 4:21.

Also against the Wolverines, Geneva redshirt freshman heavyweight Jarrod Hinrichs fell in the first sudden victory period to Dustin Dennison, 8-6, and eighth-ranked Zach Stodden (Broomfield, Colo.) gave up 1:41 in riding time to lose 3-2 at 184 pounds.

The 23rd-ranked UNI Panthers used three tech falls, two falls and two majors to blank the Lopers. Hinrichs was competitive again, falling 7-5 to JJ Everard, while Colorado sophomore Seth Harrington lost 3-2 at 157 pounds based on riding time.

UNK is off Saturday before taking part in the annual Harold Nichols Cyclone Open Sunday at Iowa State.
