Veteran Kevin Barrett
Kearney, Neb. – The fourth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team used four bonus point wins to beat 23rd-ranked Newman, 29-19, Thursday night in Wichita.

To once again beat the Jets (0-2), UNK got tech falls from top-ranked Destin McCauley (N. Sioux City, S.D.) and fourth-ranked Calvin Ochs (Hoxie, Kans.). For good measure, 11th-ranked Zach Stodden (Broomfield, Colo.) recorded a fall at 4:51 to win at 184 pounds. Finally, junior heavyweight Kevin Barrett (Baltimore) ran his record to 22-4 after a 5-2 win to close out the night.
