Annual Midwest Duals on Campus this Weekend

Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney wrestling program hosts the 5th Annual Midwest Duals this Friday and Saturday in the Health & Sports Center and Cushing Coliseum.

In previous years, the tourney was held at the Buffalo County Fairgrounds Exposition Center but that venue is booked with another event.

A total of 74 college (NCAA Division II, NAIA and JUCO), high school and youth teams, representing 13 different U.S. states, will compete on 18 mats in Cushing and the H & S Center. Action begins at 9 a.m. on both days and runs until the early evening hours.

On Friday, NAIA and junior colleges (18 total) will compete along with smaller class high schools (16). On Saturday, the action will include Division II schools (20), kids clubs (10) and larger class high schools (10).

Go HERE to see the schedule for each day; note the kids club schedule is TBD. (Schedules updated Jan. 13 as four teams have dropped out due to weather; Augusta H.S., Wayland Baptist U., Drury U. & Newman U.).

Note mats 1-8 are in the H & S Center; mats 9-18 are in Cushing.

Cost of admission, per day, is $10.00 (adults) and $8.00 (seniors/youths). Kids 10 and under are free with senior pricing beginning at age 55. Those who have the UNK All-Sports pass or a Nebraska Coaches Association pass will also gain admittance; the passes must be shown to get in.

Gates open each day at around 8:00 a.m. (after skin checks and weigh-ins are completed).

Fans that cannot attend can follow the action live via www.trackwrestling.com.
