UNK Falls to #4 'Chos in G.I.

Kearney, Neb. – The fourth-ranked Central Oklahoma Bronchos took all six singles matches to sweep Nebraska-Kearney, 7-0, Saturday afternoon in Grand Island.

UNK falls to 11-9 (1-1) while UCO (7-2, 2-0) remains unbeaten against D2 competition.

The Lopers number three doubles team of senior Camryn Parnell (Lee's Summit, Mo.) and sophomore Claire Neil (Papillion) managed a 6-4 win. However, the 'Chos took the other two matches by a combined 12-2 count and never looked back.

In singles, senior Sherry Sun (China) battled at number three but fell by a 6-0, 4-6, 7-6 score to Paola Landin with 30th-ranked Adel Byanu getting past 38th-ranked Vasilisa Polunova (Russia) by a 7-5, 6-4 count.

UNK hosts defending MIAA champ Northeastern State on Sunday afternoon. That dual is back at the Grand Island Tennis Center after having been moved to Harmon Park on Saturday night.
