Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

A Scoreless Draw on Opening Night

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's soccer team out shot Minnesota State-Moorhead by an 11-4 margin but the Lopers and Dragons ended up in a 0-0 (2 OT) tie Friday night at Ron & Carol Cope Stadium at Foster Field.

The game was part of the fourth annual UNK Fall Classic. The early contest also went into extra time with Harding (Ark.) converting a penalty kick in the 100th minute to down Wayne State, 1-0.

The Lopers played four OT games last fall, posting a 1-2-1 mark. This marks the team's first scoreless affair since an October 2017 road game at Southwest Baptist.

UNK, possessing the ball 57% of the time, had five shots in both halves and one more in the second OT period. Senior Maddie Love (Norfolk Catholic) had team-highs in both shots (four) and shots on goal (three) with sophomore Bridget Barker (Ballwin, Mo.) seeing both of her shots being on target.

Dragon keeper Kayleigh Sedlacek recorded nine saves on the long night with Loper senior keeper Allie Prososki making two. Sedlacek's last save came in the 105th minute on a shot taken by Love. Finally, Gretna freshman Emma Weis logged 64 minutes off the bench and managed two shots.

UNK faces Wayne State Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with HU and MSUM squaring off at 11 a.m.
