Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's tennis team fell at Drury, 6-1, Saturday afternoon in Springfield, Mo.

The Lopers (2-3) were scheduled to face the Harding (Ark.) Bison on Friday night but that dual was postponed until next weekend when UNK is in Russellville, Ark.

Annually one of the top teams in the Midwest Regions, Drury (6-1) won all three doubles matches and then went 5-1 in singles. The Lopers tallied a combined 13 points in doubles as the number three team of Mexican freshman Jazmin Zamorano and Missouri junior Pranathi Gannavaram fell by just a 7-6 (-1) score.

Columbia freshman Melisa Becerra continues to impress as she won at number one singles (6-2, 5-7, 11-9). She beat French junior Nastasia Jedrychowski and is now 4-1 in singles. Finally, Zamorano lost her number three matchup by a 7-5, 6-2 count.

In addition to the Harding dual, UNK will face Henderson State and Arkansas Tech in Russellville.
