Home Opener Comes Against No. 5 UCO

Kearney, Neb. – Junior Pranathi Gannavaram and freshman Jazmin Zamorano picked up a tough win at number three doubles but the No. 5 Central Oklahoma Bronchos took the other eight matches to record a 7-0 win Saturday afternoon at Harmon Park.

This was the MIAA for both squads. UCO improves to 7-1 while the young Lopers fall to 3-7.

Gannavaram (Lee's Summit, Mo.) and Zamarano (Mexico) moved to 3-2 on the spring thanks to a 7-6 (6) win over sophomore Nikki Boyar and freshman Blythe Buntrock. The 'Chos, however, took the doubles points thanks to wins of 6-2 and 6-1 in the other matches.

In singles UCO won all six matches in straight sets. Zamorano had the toughest battle, dropping her first set by a 6-4 score at number three.
