Six Earn All-Region Honors

Kearney, Neb. – Six members of the Nebraska Kearney cross country team have earned 2022 All-Region honors from the U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

To earn the honor at the Division II level, a student-athlete must place in the Top 25 at their respective regional meet. This fall 200 men from 81 schools qualified with 200 women representing 85 schools made the cut. 0

The Loper women are represented by redshirt junior Hannah Pollan (Omaha Benson) who ran the 6k Central Regional course in 21:22.7 to finish 24th and be the team's first scorer. She joins Morgan Benesch (2014 & 2015) and Destiny Reinke (2019) as UNK women to earn All-Region accolades.

All five of UNK's regional scorers placed in the Top 25 and the are Iowa redshirt sophomore Myles Bach (5th/29:25.1), McCool Junction redshirt senior Luke Stuckey (6th/29:26.8), Ainsworth redshirt junior Ben Arens (14th/29:42.3), Juniata redshirt senior Justin Vrooman (22nd/30:13.6) and Kansas sophomore Brett Schoenhofer (25th/30:18.0). The men ran a 10k in Joplin, Mo.

Stuckey is a three-time qualifier, Bach makes it for the second time in a row with the others first time honorees. Stuckey joins Jahn Landrigan (2014-16) and Corbin Hansen (2017-19) as three-time honorees with Bach and Andrew Fields (2016-17) the Loper two-time qualifiers.

Both nationally-ranked UNK teams have qualified for the NCAA Championships, set for Dec. 2 (Fri.) in University Place, Wash.
