Kearney, Neb. – The 46th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney women's tennis team breezed by Fort Hays State, 7-0, Saturday afternoon in Kansas.

The dual was originally set for Wednesday but got pushed back due to inclement weather. UNK (8-7, 1-2) has now taken all 10 MIAA duals with the rival Tigers (6-6, 0-3).

Recording its sixth shut out of the year, the Lopers allowed just a combined four points in doubles and took each singles match in straight sets. Hays didn't score more than four points in any singles set.

Mexican sophomore Jazmin Zamorano continues her strong season by winning at number one doubles (6-0) and number three singles (6-1, 6-0). She paired with Colombian sophomore Melisa Becerra to improve to 5-3 while recording her 11th straight singles win.

Next, Missouri senior Pranathi Gannavaram won 6-4, 6-2 at number six singles and 6-3 at number three doubles with Lincoln freshman Clare Plachy. The 2021 Class A singles champ, Plachy took her number five singles match by a 6-1, 6-0 count.
