Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney women's golf team dominated the Mount Marty Invite, placing first and second Friday in South Dakota.

This was the season-opening tournament for UNK and they'll be in six other events this fall.

The "A Team" shot a 603 (306-297) with the "B Team" at a 664 (328-336). Host MMC came in a distant third (672) in an 11-team event played at two different courses. The 603 is the second best 36-hole score in school history with the 297 third lowest and seven shots shy of tying the record. 

Kansas junior Allison Comer was the medalist thanks to a 150 (71-79) with Colombian sophomore Juliana Botero Molina the runner up (151; 80-71) and Puerto Rico super senior Faviola Gonzalez third (152; 78-74). The "A Team" was rounded out by Arizona senior Paige Lucero (T-4th/154; 79-75) and Kansas sophomore Brooke King (6th/155; 78-77).

The "B Team" was paced by Arizona junior Sophia Coleman (T-4th/154; 76-76) and Colombian redshirt freshman Sofia Laserna Murra (T-6th; 168; 83-85).

UNK has a quick turnaround as they are in Kansas City for the annual Central Region Fall Preview Tuesday/Wednesday (Sept. 6-7).
