Lopers Win in San Fran

Kearney, Neb. – The 18th-ranked Nebraska Kearney wrestling team won the first three matches to roll to a 30-9 win over San Francisco State Saturday afternoon in California.

UNK got major decisions from redshirt freshman Zach Ourada (Omaha Skutt) and redshirt sophomore Drew Arnold (Beatrice H.S.), by a combined score of 32-10, to start the afternoon. Redshirt sophomore Daniel DeRosier (Bellevue East) then racked up nine third period points to outlast Sean Yamaski, 15-13, at 141 pounds.

While the Gators (0-1) won they next three weight classes, UNK took the final four. Nationally-ranked Trenton Munoz returned to his home state to roll at 174 pounds, 15-0, with nationally-ranked Crew Howard (Clarinda, Ia.) doing the same at heavyweight, 9-3. Finally, redshirt sophomore Jackson Kinsella (Creston, Ia.) had a major decision at 197 pounds. 

The Lopers (1-1) head to Division I Stanford on Sunday afternoon.
